Green Mountain College, founded in 1834, ceased operations in 2019. The campus includes academic buildings, residence halls, administrative offices, athletic facilities, open land, and supporting infrastructure which amount to more than 500,000 square feet of improvements and over 100 acres of farmland through which flows the crystal-clear Poultney River.
The site occupies a prominent location within walking distance of downtown Poultney, Vermont and has historically played a central role in the town’s economic, cultural, and civic life. It’s Georgian architecture and thoughtful layout make it very beautiful.
